Two head chefs and a cunning plan
While most Street food businesses start life outside, then move in, never ones for the conventional, Head chefs and owners of What The Fork, Gareth and Richard, decided to do the opposite.
Starting life as What The Fork Cafe on Walpole Avenue in Douglas, the business started to gain a 5 star reputation on TripAdvisor and Facebook. This led to the purchase of a Market Stall, from which we first traded at Events, then the purchase of a Trailer and finally our Custom built 1985 Mercedes Street Food truck.
Throughout our growth, we have had two constants, using the best produce the Isle of Man can offer, to create unique and delicious Award winning Global Cuisine. The second was having a laugh while doing so. A great product creates great vibes.
Our biggest event to date was the 2018 Bushy’s TT Village, where, using just the Trailer and Truck, we created over 4000 meals to a consistent and high quality standard. We met loads of cool and positive people at the Event and through them, the demand for WTF Streetfood has grown enormously. This has resulted in the conversion of the Cafe into a full time Production Kitchen to keep up with demand.
